Holy shit. A interviewee just snuck in a hugely transmisogynistic "joke" before 9am on the #TodayShow #bbc4. How can all of you be this bad.

Discovering how much the people of York hate Chinese and Polish people. Builders referred to our building having too many "kitchen sinks" (we initially thought literal basins as our kitchens had 2 big ones but the builder's corrected us it was about our Hong Kong flatmates).
-
Some of my flatmates in undergrad, especially one guy to the extreme, was also very aggressive towards our fellow Hong Kong flatmates. As I, 2nd year, showed around some 1st years (Singaporeans) some 15 year old boys sang a song they just made up that went "ching chong Chinaman".

As I walked down the streat speaking on the phone to my mum (speaking not English), I got screamed at to "go home", spat at, burped at, etc. The public can be brutal.

Sorry to hear that - this kinda shit can weigh heavy. I'd like to believe there are more kind people in the world than assholes - it's just that assholes make more noise b/c, well, they're assholes

But yes, thank you for solidarity!

-
To be clear, that's not to say London is better full stop. But my experience in London after moving down from Yorkshire (which is where my dad is from originally, Sheffield) has involved less racism. Definitely not zero, of course.
