I genuinely never thought this top would be a magnet for wankers to make comments. Another guy asked me why I'm sad. I said "it's just words, your top has words too" while walking away. His comeback was "but mine says glory" to wish I could have replied of course but

My other top which says "fuck your feelings" also attracted one very strange interpretation and person on twitter...

I am surprised youths these days even know what goth is, to be honest! I am curious how one would misinterpret "fuck your feelings".... oh wait, I'm probably not after thinking about it for a second =D

Yeah, a ten year old child screamed "fuck you goth" and mimed punching and headbutting me when I was with my partner. I think the UK has issues. Google "UK goth hate crime"...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-34919722 …

Holy crap! What the hell is wrong with people! Isn't the UK where goth pretty much started? It should be a source of national pride! Over here in the US, we have jazz, blues, & rock. HEY UK, BE PROUD OF GOTH! It's fucking cool!

In the UK we have a long history of warring subcultures - see rockers and mods. At least where I'm from goths were positioned opposite 'chavs' and the two groups would fight a lot

I was never well accepted in the goth communities over here even though I dressed goth and listened to the same music - but I also had a wide musical appetite and blended styles from multiple genres. For instance, I was sXe but dressed like below, but sang in a punk band.pic.twitter.com/EpD2gO3j2x

But here, in my experience, most of the violence was within the hardcore punk / punk / oi communities, usually idiot sXe dudes and sk*nheads. Or, in my case, getting beaten up and thrown in lockers for being "queer" (long before I was able to admit it to myself even).

Sorry to hear this. I am not in any community in the UK, but not because I have tried, just not bothered. In Cyprus 50% of people are metalheads — def not a minority genre — so growing up was different with other related issues but not lack of other goths. What does sXe mean?

Sorry! It means "straight edge" which was/is a movement within hardcore punk where people do not drink, smoke, or do drugs. If you've seen people w/ X's on their hands, that is what it means. It was started by the 80s hardcore punk band Minor Threat. It eventually became violent.
