idk if i should switch from anonymous twitter account to my real name by now. what do you all think is preferable on twitter? why? please tell me your thoughts in the comments. i’m too attached to my handle and it’s quite hard to let it go.

It's really hard to be a role model on twitter if (in threads, most people IMHO don't click through to profile, most people RT without clicking on papers) people see an anonymous/pseudonymous account.

That's just something I've noticed based on my tweets' RTs and impressions for e.g., preprints and journal articles versus reads and downloads of the same.

I respect your wishes either way, of course. If you prefer to tweet pseudonymously — because yes, your name is on your profile, but seriously most people don't click through to read it — that's completely upto you and how you feel.

Yeah I hear you! I’m still considering and the responses helped. Not sure I want a ton of students search and follow me though (I have lotsa undergrad students), besides the Turkish gov. So it could be a compromise if not ideal.
