I am so perplexed by the London Underground fare system. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the best option is for a 4-day stay. Pay-as-you-go contactless? Travelcard (1-day/7-day)? Oyster Card? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oyster and contactless are identical. It's likely the Travelcard option if you are using the tube/buss more than 3 times a day is cheaper in most cases. However, if you are using the tube outside peak hours and only two times a day just use Oyster/contactless card.

BTW you can, if you are lucky and in a station with workers, ask them. They likely know what's best for your specific case given the zones you will be moving through etc.
