I used to think everybody had "comfies" (what I call them). The stuff you change into when you get home. Then I realised at university that some people lounge around at home in denim??? Strange people.

Where can I get my "strange people" membership card? :-) I actually had the opposite realization living in the UK: changing clothes is the first thing you do when you get home?!
-
Yes, but I'm not from the UK.
-
I started this from a young age decades before emigrating to the UK.
-
Yup realized when hanging out with someone from Cyprus that this was not "just" a British thing... That's when I started thinking I was the weird one.
-
It might be a French thing not to change TBH!

My first thought was "why don't you wear comfy clothes to start with?" and then "Wait... Maybe the average outfit for men is way more comfy than for women?" and also "Maybe denims are very uncomfy and I did not realize?"
-
There's a lot to unpack. But to be clear, I started doing this from a young age from when I had to wear a school uniform. And yes, obviously a uniform skirt and a non-stretch shirt aren't as comfy as leisurewear.
-
Makes total sense. I did not realize those factors at the time.
-
But for sure there are people who don't change who are from Cyprus and the UK.
-
For me changing is inherently relaxing. The act of putting on fresh clothes that are looser. I also shower twice a day, which again I find inherently relaxing.
