I've also ripped the back of my feet to shreds. New shoes are nasty. Unwearable. Was only walking for 15 minutes. Really annoyed.
I probably won't be able to be good at bouldering later on today.
Totally BS that the shop insisted these are the same as the ones I tried on.

-
They also say that because I've worn them, they can't be refunded. So they don't see my problem.
-
They also insist that the fit is normal even though the shoe doesn't hold my ankle. They insist this is OK.
-
Anyway, you all have been warned.
-
Only after 15 mins of wearing them. I know it's tough for
@UNDERGROUNDSHOE because they don't understand/accept these shoes are really different to the ones I tried on (and wore for more than 15 mins) but it's also really painful for me & will affect bouldering later today.

Shambolic practice from this company. I'm sorry you've been through all this trouble.
-
yeah, genuinely sad because I love the way the shoes look
-
The shoes are lovely! But the company does need to take responsibility.
-
I wish when I went in they just said "this is a known problem we will replace them for you" instead of "I have a pair like this too it's normal for these shoes but other shoes we stock don't have this problem". I am thinking about what to do as I like they are taking advantage.
