A great deal of them exist and they have been in politics (with powers to change laws in the US for example) for decades. A lot of history here: http://theterfs.com/

Which is not often accidental ...

Good so you can see how Feminism, just like all movement needs to often clean their house, take out the trash, put their house in order.
-
Main reason why I have never liked to attach myself to any movement... I trust individuals but I don't trust groups/clubs/collectives.

I know, and that is precisely what worries me!

I think you are talking about something else than Olivia. Speaking for myself, when I was young knowing that there existed people ‘like me’ in the
community, who could live a happy and fulfilling life, was a literal life saver. -
IMO it is worrying if people’s need for representation and community is seen as ‘worrying’. I know not what you mean. But at the time it was seen as worrying by my father eg, because he was afraid I’d not intetact enough with ‘normal people’.

I think Esther means she is worried on behalf of marginalised people.

So tankies are the fascists of the Left. AnCaps are the fascists of the Libertarian Anarchist movement. TERFs are the fascists of Feminism. There are equivalent groups within Open Science too. They are not mainstream, but fringe groups exist and are often VERY vocal.
-
Reactionary groups within every movement often can actually get a lot done, harming people generally and the broader movement significantly.
