One of my ongoing desires is a haircut that: 1. Doesn't require monthly touch-ups, because I am poor. 2. Stays out of my face without me having to do anything. 3. Looks good on a fat face. (I don't think this actually exists.)

I forgot to mention that I have ridiculous cowlicks that mean I can't just take a clippers to my head and forget it. If I do that, the second things get remotely longer, weird things happen.

Like. Multiple cowlicks. On my head. Being awkward.

If folks remember my disastrous cut in early 2016, I looked like a fuzzball bc my hair ALSO is so thick and wiry it won't lay flat once it's cut shorter than 3/4" or so. I have REALLY GREAT HAIR that would be a dream for someone who likes messing with their hair. Which I am not.

Yeah, I feel you so much. I have multiple cow licks and an unusual skull shape, like it's almost like it has corners. Short hair will just always look bad on me unless I spend hours learning how to maintain it. Long hair works well because the weight of it keeps it in check.

Yeah, I keep coming back to mid-length hair but it's such a hassle. I spent the whole of last year wearing soft wrap-around headbands which are fine but are less about my actual aesthetic and more about ease and comfort.

Oh, wow, that's impressive! They can be nice but usually headbands give me migraines. I think you might have to settle for long hair? Mid-length is totally wild on me too! I need it just to be like "oh thanks for blowdrying for 5 mins because you felt cold, I'm good to go now".

I use the soft headbands that are sort of like what athletes wear, but mine are a poly-cotton instead of terry, I think. They don't interfere with my glasses, but they do sometimes slip off and need to be readjusted.

Yeah, that makes sense. I have bangs/a fringe BTW and a cowlick inside it. I have no idea how that plays as nicely as it does BUT if I sleep on it, we're talking a transformation... I look like I messed up all my hair on purpose like for a Halloween costume.

If the fringe is the one in your avi, it's really nice. It suits you.
