I tried to use the Turkish database but the damn thing apparently crashed on Day 1. And now I cannot find my TR ID, so I basically gave up, hoping a relative would be curious enough to find out stuff.

Yes. surnames, location of birth, dead or alive, and the martial status but my grand grand grand grandfather seems like he is alive :)

It's presumably due to clerical errors and/or registration of the deceased for voting fraud or something.
