Top tip: consider whether a static site generator might work for you. Great way to incorporate version control & collaboration using git, and to get a professional-looking website on your institution's hosting.

Mine's static as are http://bradlove.org http://neuroplausible.com and http://redistrict.science . Recommended for most websites esp small ones, IMHO.
