Started reading Kuhn’s Structure of Scientific Revolutions and right in the Preface, he cites two women philosophers—Hélène Metzger and Anneliese Meier among his four major influences. So awesome! Why don’t we hear these names more often?

The next sentence deserves its own tweet: “Out-of-date theories are not in principle unscientific because they have been discarded.” Somehow this seems to be both a most fundamental truth about science and an often forgotten one.

And the corollary: Trendy theories/methods are not in principle more scientific because they are well-funded/everywhere.
