Yeah, this is really astute and a nice analysis. Something they didn't mentioned (I think?) is that it's intertwined with the ideas of Less Wrong too.

Again not sure if they mentioned it but it's also about accelerationism.

Absolutely. (Also, I think see that Less Wrong community as a kind of facet of the things they're talking about, but then again I try to not think about Less Wrong very much so it's not a very solid concept in my mind, either.)

I don't think about them THAT much but they are obv a useful community to understand in order to understand people like Bezos and Musk. They are in the same community for all intents and purposes. They are just a community of poorer but intellectually identical siblings.

I stopped at "You wanna know who killed JFK?! YOU KILLED FUCKING JFK." felt apropos.

Yeah, that was the poignant bit. Musk and what he stands for is a kind of recurring theme throughout here and there. It's my favorite podcast.

To be honest, it's not just Musk. If it was just one person I'd not see it as a tip of a huge under current in society. It's way way more than a single CEO, sadly.

Oh no, I meant him as a symbol for a greater movement in society the world over. Not just about him at all. He stands for a kind of movement that feels revolutionary on its own, to itself, but is a symptom of a kind of sickness society has.

Yes. 100%. Others also act this way too like some prominent Less Wrongers, some other CEOs, but you are right that he is "the best" example.
