This fucking country. Our house is a steaming pile of Victorian BS. I found doors behind doors. I am not trying to confuse you. I literally pulled on the door itself and inside it was a panelled door.

In the 1970s and 80s it was common for British assclowns to hide their panelled doors (original Victorian) behind shitty plywood to make them look "modern". As you can imagine (also given other house principles were violated too) the doors just rotted from the inside out.

Principles violated BTW means: Victorian houses were designed to breathe, suck in air from below, close to the ground (hence the raised floorboards for the floor) and send it our through the chimneys. The fireplaces were always on so this didn't matter and it also kept the house

dry and warm. In the 1970s people started putting carpet in and central heating and the houses were not designed for this, so they started decomposing. Do not even get me started on render or pebbledash applied to facades.

Sorry it's just... my house looks like this right now because of 70s and 80s bad home "improvements". We also found a Spanish passport which expired in the 1950s under the carpet.https://twitter.com/o_guest/status/959497964656955393 …

Yep. Remind me why we live in this shithole again? Why don't we all go and set up a research institute somewhere nice. I'm thinking the Canary Islands.

DUDE TELL ME ABOUT it! I'm actually from Cyprus too. I'm not even from this place!

Cyprus is a little too hot for me. Regularly over 40C is ridiculous.
