I use beamer because I can't stand WYSIWYGs. But yes like I said above "using beamer is not too far off from the definition of self-harm".

It's surprisingly difficult to do when slides become filled with equations, for example, and you wanna change small things here and there. Most people don't even bother to do it and/or don't know it can be done.

I use it extensively when teaching, although I don't do any teaching currently at all.
