I'm making slides and I've had a bug for like 20 mins. Right at the point of thinking "screw this" I'll go back to a working version (git
), I realise the error message is literally what I was doing wrong (just wrong line number cause LaTeX is a joker). FFS.

I gave a talk on reproducible research two years back, the git repo is here: https://github.com/kblin/reproducible-research-talk … Compiled slides are at http://kblin.org/talks/cbiovikings_2016/index.html#1 …

But this really is just the RSudio presentation thing with ioslides:http://rmarkdown.rstudio.com/ioslides_presentation_format.html …

I see. Would it load MathJax to do equations?
-
And does it have an environment like overprint in LaTeX? Those are my most basic needs.
-
Not sure what overprint is?
-
It (and other related environments) are what allow you to move seamlessly from one sub-slide to another replacing things here and there without any of the remaining text/images "jumping" around. Simplest case: https://i.stack.imgur.com/rlbpw.gif

It's surprisingly difficult to do when slides become filled with equations, for example, and you wanna change small things here and there. Most people don't even bother to do it and/or don't know it can be done.

I use it extensively when teaching, although I don't do any teaching currently at all. These slides have many of the more complex examples of replacing in situ without any other elements moving when I work through the equations: https://github.com/oliviaguest/connectionism/raw/master/week1/slides/part_2_slides.pdf …
