When do you think it's appropriate to make one? I'm a 2nd year doctoral student and am holding off until I'm further along. But maybe that's not a good idea?
-
Now. Trust me. Even if you have no pubs, even if you have "nothing". Put up your research interests, your name, your school, you lab. Trust me. When I look for young'uns to invite to workshops, I need this info!

-
Free domains for students here! http://nc.me !

Thank you so much for this info. I was looking for a time...
-
And here it is http://jaquent.me <3

Great stuff!

I took your advice and am in the process of making a website for myself, so thank you
-
Nice one! Link?
-
It's my professional one with my actual name on it so I can't haha
-
Interesting. I worry it might serve less of its purpose then, but I understand why you might prefer to tweet pseudonymously.
-
How so? It's the best place to find my work (publications, posters, etc.) that's associated with my name. My email and twitter handle are on there too so I can be contacted.
-
Ah, nice one!
-
I think you have a lot of bases covered. The only one I think is important and missing is that I get invitations to give talks due to twitter and people clicking through to my website.
-
Ahhh that's a very good point. Ye I might miss a few opportunities because of that. Hopefully it won't have too much of an impact

I'm literally about to start making one. Just got my domain name yesterday. Might take a look at that code. Cheers!
-
Nice! Link us when it's done?
-
Here's a link to my website as promised: http://mickcrosse.com/index.html Thanks for making your code available, wouldn't have had a clue how to do this otherwise. Also thanks for introducing me to GitHub!
-
Wow! Nice work!
-
Cheers!! I still have to put my own spin on it but I'm getting there via trial and error

-
I think it looks really good.
