And of course since women are infantilised more than men even when they are not-yet-women (so teens and girls) it's a women's issue.

Professionalism at work is something we should all strive for. I can't force anybody to be professional though, I don't work in HR or the legal department, which certainly tries to ensure and promote professionalism within their organisation.

I hear young adults calling each other "kids" nearly all the time. It's mostly just habit from having recently been children. Yet most of the time people refer to each other in such ways they don't take outward offense to it.

Professionalism isn't the same as "not taking offence".

Professionalism can apply to both what speakers say and how listeners react.

I think asking not to be infantilised at work is pretty professional.
