I'm only three months in and I'm solidly into love/hate relationship. I've been finding writing this paper incredibly interesting and useful, but I'm also going to want to print it out and ritually burn it when I'm done. -
Haha — wow, though. That is *ehem* good training for the rest of your academic career, especially if you're writing journal articles and/or conference proceedings in your first term!

I'm in the slightly weird position that my PhD is in large part building on / writing up work I'd already been doing for a couple years prior to its start, and that a lot of why I'm here is not to do the research but to learn how to write the papers! So yeah, unusually fast start
