If you are still having problems with the battery, the MacBook Pro batteries are fairly easy to replace yourself. I would assume self-service would be faster and cheaper than Apple as well.

This is certainly cheaper. I pay nothing.
-
Also the battery is pretty good IMHO — lasts for hours.
-
Ah, nice! My MacBook Pro was no longer within apple care coverage, so it was cheaper for my case to find an alternative to Apple service. Sorry for making an assumption. I do agree that the MacBook Pro batteries are good quality.

Thankfully, all these laptops I'm dealing with — might send another back today — are on grants so it's "easier" to fix them than if I was using personal funds.

*headdesk* I mean, who uses screen when tmux is so much better and leaves fewer zombies? (srsly, tho that's irritating)
-
In fact, they replaced the whole top of the laptop. So new apple logo etc.
-
And to be fair to them, they fixed it!

You are a mac user?!!! Now I have seen everything!

-
Not really. Mostly Linux, then Android, then OSX. I use my laptop mainly to give presentations, pretty much that's it.

-
One of these days I will get into Linux ... Sorry I'm an old cow and I had enough with dos and unix. ;)
-
Probably won't like Linux if you hated unix.

-
Not hated but I got used to windows
-
Fair. I only tolerate my laptop because decent Linux laptops are impossible to find, macs are beautiful, and it's got a terminal.
-
Very good points!

Well, the new screens do have better specs, so maybe you got an upgrade at least?
-
No, not upgraded.
-
Hope your issue gets fixed soon! -
I think it's fixed!
