One small thing is that gender and sex are actually both fluid and basically the same thing. Just because a woman has a penis doesn't mean her gender or her sex is male. I would never call a trans woman's penis male no more than her fingernails are male.

And man/woman the same, they are simplifying and often oppressive labels that often disallow people to self-identify.

I agree. I was realizing that while I was typing. I would use 'female' as 'sex of a woman'. Hence both cis woman and trans woman are female. I know that some (including transphobic) ppl use terms differently, but that was certainly not what I meant & hopefully also didn't imply.

So if we are referring to sex are female/male are ok (ish)?

I think so yes, if that fits with a person's sex (so, intersex etc aside). Just find it odd to refer to one another's sex in contexts where that seems irrelevant.
