Not tidy! Books in the loft are packed in boxes randomly, impossible to find anything, down here increasingly difficult too.

Yeah, this is why I'm a little against buying books in paper form. They are beautiful though.

Well, by the time I started to buy books there were no other formats. I also like them, feeling and smelling the paper. I'm old fashion

Yeah, I'm obviously with you. It's just I only just bought a house. So all these years, moving house, I had nowhere to put them.

Living here has been tough. The stairs are representative of the rest. I see shows on TV where the person is supposed to be poor and I think "wow, nice house". We had a mushroom growing in our bathroom once. And as you know, rats.

We've thrown so much of this house away. Three doors, all the carpets, bits of the bathroom, just in a week or so of moving in a year and a half ago.

The coolest thing we found under the carpet was a Spanish passport which expired in the 60s. We found a way to return it to her son.

Yes, under this really disgusting carpet. Imagine 80 years of dirt.... Cleaning was overwhelming the first few days. I wore a mask and I still had trouble breathing.

Shit! But you got your own house and soon it would look great! So, worth the trouble.
