From what I know we agree with Olivia on the superiority of health benefits of HIIT > cardio :)

Replying to @paweljmatusz @ar0mcintosh
I actually have been trying to build muscle so my HIIT game is weak.

You could try doing 5x5 for weights? I think that might be more compatible w doing HIIT? It's only 3 days per week - doing 5x5 for squat, bench press, barbell row, overhead BB press, deadlift. e.g. https://stronglifts.com/5x5/

I tried it last year for a couple months, and got some good strength gains, although I don't think it is so good for just hypertrophy of muscles as higher rep regimens..

So you saw strength gains more than shape gains?

Yeah, for sure! I could lift a lot more, but didn't see much shape gain for muscles! But it's ok, because then after you finish, you can lift heavier weights at 3x12 etc., and then you get increased shape gain!

No probs! Glad it was interesting!
Let me know if you give it a try! I think I will try it again actually now I thought of it again lol!1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
How long were you doing it for last time?

I think it was 6 weeks I stuck with it. I remember I went from 30kg to 50kg on overhead barbell press, which was quite good! I used dumbbells mostly for bench press tho, since I didn't have a spotter.

Nice work! We have this thing at my gym where you can do stuff without a spotter/the machine is your spotter.

Thanks! Sounds good! It reminds me of the auto-belays for indoor climbing! First time I used one I was like "nah, I'll down climb thanks" but they are pretty cool once u get used to them!
