You certainly have no mercy with someone whose mother tongue is not English! Next one in Spanish, Basque and Catalan :P
-
I just think it's nice to be included.
-
As said I thought I have done it! My deepest apologies.
-
No need, it's a common mistake and like I said, I am sure I screw up all often enough.
-
Well, we have a neutral gender in Spanish so in theory it would not be needed, but it is the same as the masculine most of the time, so ppl get confused
-
I think that's the point in Greek too. And indeed in English. "Guys" is a masculine used as a default. Hence primes male.
-
Clearly I've been considered a male in all labs I've been then

"How many guys have you slept with?" = specific guys = implied male "You guys" = non-specific = implied ungendered (e.g. "everyone") The latter is contested because of the implied maleness, so often avoided. NB "How many guys have you burnt?" usually refers to Bonfire Night
-
Oh — hahahah!
FWIW: there are some pretty good alternatives out there except for the burning Guys thing.

"How many Fawkes have you burned?" certainly sounds more gender neutral! *hides*
-
Uff a catholic male with powder... are you sure about it?
-
The only thing I'm sure about is the fact I'm proud of my pun.
