Yes, "rm" 'prank' was beyond the pale. But aliasing commands is really out of order too. It's obviously bullying.

For something that literally takes five seconds to fix? Hm.

Nah. Turnabout is fair play, and the very first rule is to do no harm. Move nothing. Delete nothing. Second rule is be to be obvious, both in effect and solution. Third rule is to be amusing for the recipient.

That's _why_ rule #3. If nobody is amused, then do nothing. I agree. This might be a team-by-team thing; my team self-reinforces, your team has quarterly training. If I end up on a team like yours... I will take the training, and long for laughter.

"For something that literally takes five seconds to fix? Hm." So you really think a bro in the lab will take 5 seconds out of their day to undo a prank they just did on a non-technical/-coder lab member? Or instead will the target spend hours pulling their hair out?

Also often it will feel like the lab has pranked them, not an individual. Very emotionally abusive.

It's almost like we spent ~100 tweets explaining basic human social interactions and in-group BS.
