I'm really not a Christmas person. I just don't get it. You all can have fun with it of course.

I stopped doing it altogether. Christmas day is just like any other day of the week for me now. Hardest part is constantly having to explain yourself! For some reason "I am an atheist" is never sufficient, because of the cultural expectations...

I have other reasons that I'd rather not take part too. But as many people still believe Christmas to be Christian (despite being the least Christian event in the religious calendar...) I feel that, as an excuse, it should suffice! I'll still buy discounted food on boxing day ;)

It's a big culture shock how much it's a Western Christian thing. I'm from a country predominantly Eastern Orthodox Christian and Muslim.
