This underlines the abuse that has been faced by non-EU citizens even more. The abusers were not not abusing people before the Brexit vote, they were, just not these ones. A lot of the abuse I know of personally was actually directed at non-EU people (UK citizens no less). The racism/xenophobia in all this is pretty obvious.
