yeah, I don't really get Christmas either. But my spouse does, so I try not to get in the way too much. But I am regarded as a bit of a grinch in our household.

I don't get birthdays either nor buying gifts for others. Like don't get me wrong I like buying and doing things for others but not on a prescriptive basis.
-
And I really do not appreciate people making any deal about my birthday!

Same. There are a few December-specific foods that I like and otherwise I'd just as soon not.
-
I hate receiving presents, and being forced to take time off at a time of year when travel is expensive and everything is closed is annoying.
-
I also dislike public and/or workplace drunkenness, which definitely increases this time of year. Hard pass.
-
I don't think I have even been in the UK for Xmas so nothing here reminds me of the past. I do like the food from where I'm from but I'm not going there this year (USA instead).
-
Work drunkenness just reminds me of why I don't like it. I have been sexually assaulted and harassed at too many Xmas parties. Yep.

I stopped doing it altogether. Christmas day is just like any other day of the week for me now. Hardest part is constantly having to explain yourself! For some reason "I am an atheist" is never sufficient, because of the cultural expectations...
-
Yeah. Same for my birthday and as much as possible. I'm flying to another continent on the 25th. Avoiding going to my home country helps to avoid the close family gatherings.
-
Yep, hardly anyone I know knows when my birthday is which is nice. Social media can make it difficult because it often alerts people but I try and suppress it if I can find the option!
-
Yeah, I don't mind them knowing but making a fuss is a bit too much for me. Tangentially, one of the most offensive questions that I rarely but still get at work is "how old are you?" — depending on who is asking (usually somebody who I know is younger) I might reply, but ugh.
