Agreed totally. But there also seems to be a meta-level unspoken agreement that’s necessary as to at which depth the dance will be played out. If I stay superficial and you go deep, it’ll likely fail, yet we might not quite appreciate why exactly it failed.

Same. And it’s bec like a child I keep going deeper w a new question at every step to make sure we understand each other, which then totally backfires and meets great resistance. If I’d stopped sooner, we’d have at least some illusion of communication. I end up ruining even that!

If we're talking about me personally I'm pretty aspie so a lot of modelling other minds is a skill I've both perfected in some contexts and utterly fail at in others. I have a lot of heuristics and coping mechanisms.
