Introduced the tiniest subset of github and git to lab today. I feel like hopefully it was enough to get people started.

It feels like anathema to code w/out version control in a professional env. So I hope those who haven't embark on a beautiful adventure.

Don't get me wrong 1-2 people are obviously using version control, but most aren't. I've a feeling most didn't realise git is primarily CLI.

The thing is if you code for a large part of the day, and I'm including writing LaTeX in this, you absolutely need version control.

Otherwise, you're doing a disservice to your profession, to science, to your funders, to your PI. Code isn't safe outside version control.
