There isn't one type of academic. I can't always work even if I want to.

I've had exactly the same experience with DM's. So helpful. Shout out to everyone who answers questions via DM's!
-
I didn't mean questions, I'm thinking about emotional and psychological support. Some people on here are true friends.
-
Anytime I tweet someth negative because it's happened to me, I get a handful of people saying really meaningful stuff or directly helping.
-
From being stuck with something like the Travis CI example or feeling down because something bad happened. Twitter has helped me.
-
I'm intrigued with the questions in DMs thing. I've never done it. But I've been on the other end, it's fine but can seem rude occasionally.
-
Most people who DM me to ask questions did it when I was blogging more often, they emailed too, it's fine but overwhelming and sadly often
-
they needed me to do a lot of explaining because there was some big gap. That's fine but I wish it was in public so more could benefit from
-
the effort I was putting in.
