I've been looking into Node quite a bit recently, found this helpful http://nodeguide.com/convincing_the_boss.html …
-
Interesting! The fact that its not great for CPU intensive tasks is pretty informative...
-
Yeah, I've seen that come up in a few different lists as one of the main cons of Node
-
It can be great for intensive computation, with multiple workers, webasm or c(++) bindings, and is continuously optimised...
-
... by all the biggest and best software teams in the world.
-
I love the fact I built essentially from completely custom spec a totally novel thing in leaflet maps. The prototyping is ridiculous.
-
I wish I could say more but it's embargoed for now. I didn't use node though.
-
And my knowledge of javascript is minimal. I just know how to hack super well.

Asynchronicity, the best module system and (sub?) community if any lang I know, and it's becoming beautiful to think in
-
And it runs on 99% of devices in the world

It will be sweet when js sci libraries mature. If only to enable more powerful, dynamic sci web apps.

Hold that thought for 6 months
