to war. The fact the shop itself is abandoned adds another layer of pain. Apparently a Sainsbury's was to be built there but it wasn't.

But then the real pain kicks in when I Google Cypriot community or something... I mean I live in a part of London defined by immigration
from Cyprus. "Haringey became the second biggest Cypriot town in the world" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Cypriots …
The pain kicks in because at the forefront of my mind is the fact that we hate each other sometimes.
An organisation called "National Federation of Cypriots in the UK" & w tagline: Working for a Free, United Cyprus"http://www.cypriotfederation.org.uk
Seems superficially like "OMG maybe I can speak in my own language with some people, even if it's old grannies" but in reality I click on
the link and — I can't take it — there is implicit and explicit anti-Turkish Cypriot propaganda all over it. I just... I can't.
How can I love my fellow Cypriots and want to be with them when they want to tear out a part of the rich tapestry of our own culture...
It's tough being an immigrant. I hate us for hating ourselves.
On a more positive note: Maybe I should just to the Cypriot bakeries on Green Lanes and see what happens. @nadia_kti @NatalieHami1

Oh, and one last thing. To me "Cypriot" would have the phrase "existential pain" as one of the first descriptors if I had to define it.
