Somebody or somebodies today have accused me in writing of not knowing how to code. I have a degree in comp sci & I'm a comp modeller.

They as in a RC?
-
Not a Research Council, but a funder nonetheless.
-
Again, sorry. It is surreal
-
Yeah. Also genuinely unexpected given other things that have happened related to this project.
-
Can you respond to their comments? Can you use references? Supporting evidence?
-
I can't directly respond at the moment. But we've asked for what they are on about.
-
Good luck. I don't know what else to say.
-
Yeah, we'll see. I'm more offended than anything else to be honest. It's pretty rude.

I had someone turn me down because “we need someone with better C and debugging skills.” I was like, “then your eval system is broken!”
-
Ugh. That sounds like code for something else.
-
Definitely, on Google skill levels of 0-10 where 10 is “I wrote the book (for real, literally)” I am 9 at both… so… clearly not actual eval…

How the **** do they know?!

I suppose they read my CV. /s

Spoiler alert: I've got a comp sci degree and I'm a computational modeller.

-
I know :)

Happens to my female colleagues also. Bias is real.
-
It’s appalling. I’ve had colleagues who pushed back and been labelled aggressive. Calling out needs to be public to work. Need a shame list.
