It's nice and strange in some ways to know you might be one of very few — or even only — person in the world doing a tiny little thing.

If you need it, like some needed my Python gini https://github.com/oliviaguest/gini … — let me know. It's nice to know when ppl find something useful.

For more context on gini, see: http://neuroplausible.com/gini Can't say much about why I wrote pdist yet... but soon!

How does this compare to scipy.spatial.distance.pdist?
-
It's ridiculously faster. There's a file called compare.py — try it out. Be careful though.
-
Big values of N my Cython copes, but be careful read the comments before running a comparison if you change the N.
-
I'm not sure what's the best way to bench mark this other than what I put in compare.py —
@usethespacebar maybe knows?

This is COOL! Thanks Olivia! I may have an immediate application, but will have to think a bit after another coffee.
-
Oh, you working on mapping data too? Cool! Also need some more coffee here too.

-
Yep - mapping space-time structures. Perfect task for a dreary Saturday morning

-
Well this code is hella fast if you are using great circle distance

nice one

-
Ha, thank you.

-
you're welcome but, FTR, something about a yellow coloured heart seems wrong to me. Dunno why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Yellow is seen as the colour of jealousy maybe? Or more that it's unusual for a usually red body part?
