How many TB? CyVerse? @CyVerseOrg @cyverseuk

Probably in the GB range.
-
Also how does that compare to
@datalad?

Amazon?
-
@datalad that@StephenEglen mentioned looks promising! Have you used it, Stephen? -
+1 for
@datalad and git-annex. I honestly don't know how I would do without them. Add data dir as submodule in parent git repo, and voilà! -
Do you have a nice example with datalad/git annex to share?
-
I've been thinking about this for a while...I guess it's time to write a blogpost about it ;)
-
Or contribute to the
@datalad webpage right away. RST based page, one PR away... -
Please let us know!

S3 I see used quite often
-
What's s3?
-
S3 is Amazon’s cloud storage - they have a free tier but their limits may be too tight. UCL sounds v. good idea.
-
Better than
@datalad? -
As with most storage solutions you can use s3 via
@datalad or git-annex. Former is a service, latter two are a tool.

i use amazon s3, but just for images/stuff needed at runtime for experiments. my actual data sets are small and local.
-
That's a good idea. But yeah, I need like 5gigs.
-
If you’re reading and writing a lot from it I’d get a cheap digital ocean vps. Call out your data usage though, and price compare.
-
It's more for sharing with others than for me. I wouldn't need to read of write to it other that to push the files.
-
S3 or B2 or one of these things is probably best then. Pretty cheap too.
