Morning thought: should we get undergrads to publish their projects on @biorxivpreprint @PsyArXiv ?

science to be a preprint that's too immature, etc. Bad first experiences can be very upsetting.
-
true! I can see that if someone puts their stuff out there and makes mistakes and a lot of criticism for it, could be a massive turn-off
-
so it's only a good idea if the supervisor takes responsibility for vetting the work (which is a lot to ask, but would be great mentorship)
-
To be honest, I'm not sure if it's a lot to ask. Their name will be on it! If both parties want to go this route it seems it's the advisor's
-
responsibility to ensure they have trained their student well and the work is quality.
-
i would not want to guarantee the correctness of student analyses. msc students are not mini phds. but it would be good for replications.
-
I'm not saying you have to but putting something out there without checking isn't good practice IMHO.
-
ok but which supervisor rereads the program of a phd student, checking for programming bugs
