I wanted to rotate an imagine 90 degrees I'm Labview once and I had to install 2.6 Gb of packages to do it

Basically it's become "industry standard" for lab equipment software drivers to control complex custom experimental systems

Nearly everything the big optics companies sells comes with Labview drivers, which is good.
