Pretty much. Though part of me suspects I'd have benefited from it...
I don't think anybody benefits from shaming and being forced to project confidence. 
I guess that system has brought us generations of Tory MPs, I should be careful what I wish for...
Oh, gosh. So I work in science and a person in a neighbouring lab once 5-6 years ago was trying to do some emotional manipulations on
participants like stressing them out with irrelevant angry/scared face stimuli appearing on the screen during the task and he found that the
2-3 people around that he piloted it on showed a huge effort in performance when the faces were there vs not — EXCEPT the one person in lab
who had gone to public school. His poshboy education literally made him immune to angry and scared faces. Says a lot.

I wish I had that experience in a state-run school. Sadly — not from UK though.
