Oh my gosh, got very jokingly told off/owned — "do I look that old?!" — for offering the non-seat butt-rest thing to an older man.

I remember my dad getting home at some point after turning 60, furious that he was offered a seat on the bus.

I've also learned that people with disabilities can feel offended if you offer help/a seat they don't feel they need.

See, I think the culture is very different here on this. And we do have badges. I can't speak for disabled people though, of course.
