I think it's difficult to say "be nicer" to an ethnic minority when they address racism. It's called "tone policing".

That the thing, "tone policing" is a generality, one of those labels I hate so much. I'm defending just what I said which is related to it.
-
just wanted to say i share ur hatred for labels 100%. americans seem to be very much into labels but it may be my bias as an immigrant here.
-
It's so weird to me when people say this. I must use labels differently. Finding labels like: graysexual, neuroatypical, passing "privilege"
-
, bi, mansplaining, social justice, really free me. I sometimes cry when I discover a new label that allows me to express myself.
-
Why the need to belong to a category? Why just not enjoy being you?
-
I'm not sure the two are opposed, but yes, I don't like feeling an outsider it's exhausting. "Stimming" is another great one.
-
I've never been allowed to belong. My experiences have never been mainstream. I don't have the words to describe myself and my perspective.
-
I've never been a Cypriot and I've never been British, I've never been straight, I've never been neuroatypical... I'm not sure what to say

and yes, telling anyone to calm down when calmly and rationally addressing a point is patronising and an old dirty trick
-
I think we are in agreement by the way. It's obviously messy in the real world, nuance etc.
