I guess it might also be a language thing. Perhaps 'reviewer' is a male gendered thing in most languages? Easy mistake to make if so

I'm confused, which language has person-related nouns that are male even when the person is not male? In Greek we have m/f/neutral but

Turkish. In Turkish they do not distinguish between he and she. Also in Russian, male noun means male pronoun even if a woman

Fair enough, I still feel uncomfortable saying that because somebody's first language is Russian or Turkish that they can't manage English.
