Should I let it bug me that authors of paper I reviewed assumed I'm a man? ("We thank reviewer for... his comments").
Fair enough, I still feel uncomfortable saying that because somebody's first language is Russian or Turkish that they can't manage English.

I'm sure Turkish/Russian speakers can figure out he and she and even they pronouns. To assume otherwise is unwarranted — which was my point.
