I hope that Cypriot Greek can withstand assimilation into Modern Greek. I genuinely do worry that most of my/our culture will be destroyed.

Some parts deservedly so (extreme rightwing religious nationalism), others (Lefkaritika, tchiattista, etc.) absolutely not.
