I have to say I find being an editor for a journal far more satisfying than I expected it to be. Really enjoy seeing the papers evolving

Sometimes ppl have money and just want sth to get published in a recognized journal even if it's bad research.

The sad truth is, in my experience, the connections which got them the $ will prob also get the journal they want regardless of pub fees.
