So supervisors can't be human and mistakenly forget? And students should just sit idly by & wait instead of being a proactive team member?

You literally said it's never the student's fault and the other person said it's out of line for a student to speak up. What did I miss?

It isn't ever the student's fault if communication isn't happening. I just don't understand how that translates to your interpretation

Being a student myself, being told that I am out of line by asking my supervisors to do what we agreed on doesn't sit well with me.

To me, there is a distinction between managing them, and helping them manage you by providing reminders. May not sit well with some though.
