There's a spectrum between one email to ask about feedback and managing your PI daily. One end of the spectrum can get you in trouble.

Yes, agree. But asking for timely feedback (especially with agreed upon deadlines) isn't, or shouldn't, be trouble.

The point is: a supervisor should have communicated either with feedback or a timeline by then. If not, they're a bad supervisor
