I've changed research fields so many times I have no idea what I am anymore.

I think that's always going to be my problem only cause I'm so in love with science as a whole, I can't brand myself by field.

I'm technically not accepted by anybody in the so-called same field so is that kind of the same thing?

Why is that? Also I've managed to "narrow down" my passions to 3 things: Neuro, bio, space now combining them is the trick

Computational modellers aren't super loved/accepted, for one. But I have other marginalised identities which also "help" to be excluded.

Not yet. But I've to ICCM and NCPW which are just modellers. A few days with similar people doesn't make you forget the rest of the year tho

but now I'm in a lab that is computational 100% AND I'm not the only modeller.

Ah, fair enough. I've often been main computational person in labs, but am not 100% modeller.

You learn something everyday indeed, I had no idea that this whole "division" of areas of expertise went on in neuro. Branches? Sure
