Another question is whether we should worry about it. I suspect the in-group aspect has marginal effects compared to changing incentives.

Feminism is a movement. And membership is just about if you believe sexism exists. Maybe you think movement and gatekeeping go hand in hand?

It's possible they correlate but the onus is on us to make our movement open. Gatekeeping should be used to stop bad actors, not URMs/ECRs.
