Mutatis mutandis for empirical work. Replication checks for "mistakes" at many levels, for example, in the description, in the theory, etc.

So I'm not sure it'll become easier at all levels as data needs gathering, theories need checking, writing up needs ambiguity removal, etc.

But yes, some asp will be facilitated by open science, esp open data and open source. But the theory is the theory and will need checking.
