I am basing it on the fact that @open_con states they are for students and ERCs only, this means they know their attendees.
I would guess that senior academics are super welcome there, but the demographcis are as stated.

It means there is a difference in which kind of events ERCs and students attend given there are events that explicitly state this...
-
which in turn means that the communities overlap but also don't, which means there are differences between the groups.
-
It's a cycle that enforces differences between communities, given that real differences exist in terms of status etc.

I feel you seem to dislike
#SIPS2017 for some reason, but scroll through the tweets, and you'll see this is exactly what ECR's liked. -
It's not for all scientific disciplines, limited to psych (maybe even subsections) - but I guess people need some common ground to come.
-
It should not be difficult to arrange an open multidisciplinary meeting you are thinking about, if you really care about it.
-
I don't see what SIPS has to do with my question? Maybe I'm missing your point?
-
I'm talking about many disciplines coming together, cos like I said I think some fields have solved issues that others have just discovered.
